CRABCAKE: Mothers Day With Tim and His Mom

Happy Mothers Day! If you’ve ever asked yourself if The Maryland Crabs were raised by wolves, we answer that in this episode. Spoiler…the answer is no. Tim calls his mom late on a Saturday night, not to catch up, like a good son should, but to grill her about being a mom for his stupid podcast. And she is the best mom on the face of the planet…Tim will fight you if you say any different.

Talkin’ the Blues with Don and Sarah From The Chesapeake Bay Blues Fest (E-91)

It’s that time of year again!  The 20th edition of the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival is around the corner!

This week we speak with Don Hooker who founded the festival and his daughter, Sarah who has been there since day-one. We talk about memorable moments, what to look for this year, their charities and much more. And we wrap it up with some sound bites from previous years–have a listen!

NOTE: There was a lot of thumping in the recording and it is all Tim’s fault. No seriously, we tried to reduce it as much as we could, but just be aware!

CRABCAKE: Local Business Spotlight. The Golf Club at South River – Food, Fitness and an Invitation

Periodically, we take a look at a local businesses to give you something more than a peek in the window or a glance during a drive-by.  We will dig deep into the history,  the people, and of course the product.

This series of crabcake episodes is focused on The Golf Club at South River. Located just minutes from downtown Annapolis in Edgewater, it is a private club like no other. Believe me when I say it is NOT your father’s golf club…not by a long shot!

This week we wrap up our series and talk about the food at the Bistro with Chef Frederic Daniel and the Fitness Center with Director of Fitness Jesse Connor. We also bring back GM John Berish and Membership Director Beth Prensky with a special invitation for you to try out the Golf Club at South River for a day, for free!

Shootin’ the Sh!t with Sean O’Neill (E-90)

You loved him back in 2016 in Episode 5, so we brought him back by popular demand 85 episodes later….it’s Sean O’Neill. Plus, we WERE at a grungy kitchen table this time!

So, what was the topic? Not a darned thing. Just shootin’ the sh!t for an hour around the kitchen table. We talk about Mayor Buckley’s tax hike, the Market House, the upcoming Trump visit to the USNA and former local, former secret service agent, former candidate for public office… Dan Bongino. (Note: John is still confused how he ended up being a part of this.)

It was a two-beer podcast, but it was Miller Lite so it did not get too out of hand!

CRABCAKE: Local Business Spotlight. The Golf Club at South River – A Founding Member’s Thoughts

This week we wanted to see how one of the founding members felt about the club and the changes in the past ten years. Paul Matthews is member number 4 and he explains how he understood the vision of The Brick Companies a decade ago and how he has never looked back ever since.
