CRABCAKE: Comedy Legend, Tom Papa (January 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or longer in Tim blathers on and the guest is too polite to hang up. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Today Tim talks with Tom Papa, the legendary comic who will be appearing at the Rams Head on Stage for two shows on January 26. Besides being one of the biggest names in stand-up, Tom hosts his own podcast, “Come to Papa”, is head writer for “From Live To Here” (formerly “The Prairie Home Companion”), a screenwriter, actor, and author. He does not sleep.

Given the time to talk to one of his comedy idols, Tim squanders the opportunity in order to talk about the agony of raising a teenage girl and the joys of making sourdough bread. Tom was a good sport.

CRABCAKE: Paula Poundstone…Legendary Comedian and Crazy Cat Lady (December 2018)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or however long Tim wants to avoid his family.

Paula Poundstone is one of our country’s preeminent comedians, known for her smart, observational humor and spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend. Paula’s guest appearances include The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Star Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson, Late Night with Carson Daly, Nerdist with Chris Hardwick, and she was a clue in a New York Times crossword puzzle. She’s filed commentaries for CBS Sunday Morning, and Morning Edition and All Things Considered for NPR.

CRABCAKE: Comedy Legend, Rita Rudner (July 2018)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs!  What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20.  In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Today, Tim is starstruck (although, unfortunately, not speechless) when he talks to the legendary comedian, Rita Rudner, whose first special “Born to Be Mild” completely changed his stupid, chauvinistic take on women in comedy. Rita has has produced multiple comedy specials, appeared the Tonight Show and Letterman, filled Carnegie Hall multiple times, written books and movies, and holds the record as the longest-running solo comedy show in Las Vegas. Not only did Rita tolerate Tim’s bumbling questions, but she is coming to Rams Head On Stage on July 15th! Tickets will go fast, so don’t wait!
