Annapolis Towne Centre, your home for the holidays (December 2019)

As they celebrate 10 years, the Annapolis Towne Centre is going full bore for the holiday season!

Come along with us as we pick up some gifts at Scout & Molly’s, South Moon Under and About Faces Day Spa & Salon.

With nearly 30 retail shops, 18 dining options, and 4 fitness and beauty businesses, anyone’s Santa List can be fulfilled!

And speaking of Santa, he has taken up residence in his cottage at the Annapolis Towne Centre and is seeing only the good boys and girls by appointment! He has some parties planned as well and is looking forward to taking photos with your favorite pets as well. Appointments are for your convenience, but walk-ups are also very welcome!

Plenty of free parking is a hallmark of the Annapolis Towne Centre and this holiday, they have added free valet parking with a relaxing valet lounge for you while you wait for your car–thank you Brothers Services Company.

There is a FREE Fire and Ice Festival on December 7th, a Festive Friday on December 13th with sales and discounts throughout the center. And a wonderful Holiday Art Pop Up Shop by the Annapolis Arts Alliance!

You really do need to check it out.  All of the details are available on the Annapolis Towne Centre website; and if you are looking for an appointment with Santa, heres your link!

Paula Poundstone…a comic legend returns (November 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….we don’t have any kind of plan. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Paula Poundstone is back for her annual December visit to Rams Head on Stage on December 6 for two shows. Tim and Paula chat about climate change, Facebook fights, the tense political climate, feisty daughters, passive-aggressive Thanksgiving attacks, and, of course, cats. Paula also cranks out a hilarious weekly podcast, No One Listens to Paula Poundstone and is a frequent panel guest on NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!

Thank you to Ann Alsina, principal at Covington-Alsina in Annapolis, for allowing Tim to take over your conference room for a couple of hours. And we apologize in advance, because he plans on making a habit out of it.

Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (November 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

When it comes to health insurance, Tim is an idiot. In fact, let’s face it, a lot of people are. Everyone has a strong opinion about the Affordable Care Act, but few could actually explain what it means. That’s where the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange comes in. Tim sits down with Executive Director, Michelle Eberle, who patiently explains what the MHBE does and what it means to your healthcare as a Marylander.

Who’s your hero? And a conversation with a real one from Folds of Honor (November 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or longer in this case, because..well…beer! In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Today, we continue our monthly series (no set schedule other than monthly) about beer.  We have a huge distributer of beer right here in Annapolis–Katcef Brothers Inc. and they have a ton of experts on hand to de-mystify beer for us.  Now, full disclosure–I like beer! I like beer a lot!  But, I am not a beer snob and a Bud Light will suit me just fine.

This month is not so much about beer. Well, OK Budweiser Black Lager, but… it is all about heroes. Once again, Katcef Brothers and the Military Bowl have teamed up and want to know who your hero is so you can have a shot at a VIP experience at the Military Bowl. See below for dates and locations!

But we also talk to a real hero today. Rocky Sickmann was a Marine who spent 444 days in captivity in Tehran in the Iranian Hostage Crisis back in 1979.  Today, he is retired from a civilian life with Budweiser and spearheads the company’s relationship to  Folds of Honor which provides scholarships to to the millions of military dependents affected by war.As Rocky says– Freedom is not free.

Rocky will be at the Navy SMU game this Saturday where he along with Katcef Brothers will present a check to Folds of Honor!

Please have a listen!
