Snowy winter ahead? DMV Weather has some insight! (E-151)

So, are we in for a cold and snowy winter?  The Annapolis area is hard to forecast. Thankfully, we have George Young from DMV Weather to set us straight!  He has been forecasting for the Eye On Annapolis Daily News Brief for more than two years and only had one real miss–not a bad record at all!

So, today, we sit down with him to find out what all is involved in making a long range forecast for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County…and most importantly–his thoughts about what is in store for us over the next 12 to 16 weeks!

Have a listen!

Hyper-local Winter Weather Forecast from DMV Weather (E-119)

George Young knows his weather. George Young knows Anne Arundel County. George Young is the man behind DMV Weather and the weather voice on the Eye On Annapolis Daily News Brief.

We took him to task this week to talk about the upcoming winter–yes, it is almost here. And because Annapolis and Anne Arundel County is so hard to predict, we wanted to know SPECIFICALLY what is in store for us. Curious? Have a listen to see when he thinks our first real snow might show up…how many days schools will be closed….how many significant storms we can expect—and why he thinks that!

Weather is unpredictable, and George Young goes out on a limb for us. Could we be dreaming of a white Christmas..just like the ones I used to know???

Why is Maryland’s Weather So Bi-Polar?(E-88)

What is it with Maryland weather?

They say that Annapolis is in a weather bubble and what happens in Baltimore or DC stays in Baltimore or DC. Downpour in Crofton; sunny in Annapolis. Freezing in Deale; flowers blooming in Glen Burnie.

With the weather so seemingly unpredictable, we wanted to talk to George Young from DMV Wether to see what it was all about.

DMV Weather is the exclusive weather partner for the Eye On Annapolis Daily News Brief and you can hear George’s forecast every Monday through Friday at 7am.

George talks about the difficulty in forecasting Annapolis, how Division 1 baseball led to meteorology in Annapolis and his personal harrowing tale of the derecho a few years back!
