CRABCAKE: Spiked Seltzer and a taste of a new Fall beer! (August 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or longer in this case, because..well…beer! In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Today, we continue our monthly series (no set schedule other than monthly) about beer.  We have a huge distributer of beer right here in Annapolis–Katcef Brothers Inc. and they have a ton of experts on hand to de-mystify beer for us.  Now, full disclosure–I like beer! I like beer a lot!  But, I am not a beer snob and a Bud Light will suit me just fine.

Summer is waning! But we’re not letting go just yet!  This month we talk about a flavorless spiked seltzer (let that sink in for a minute)– Bon & Viv Spiked Seltzer Classic. And it truly is flavorless! We talk about our favorite summer brews (Devil’s Backbone and Troegs) and wrap it up with just a taste of fall with a brand new cider from Bold Rock–their seasonal Harvest Haze! Mixed in we scratch our heads on the success of Naturdays and the new Natural Light spiked seltzer! And Bill spills the beans on Capit-Ale–a new collaboration with Devil’s Backbone and the Washington Capitals!

Wow, has it really been 8 years for Kegs & Corks??? (E-142)

Discovering a good recipe for a festival is tough. How many festivals are one and done? How many lose their mojo after a year or two? Well, Kegs & Corks Craft Beer and Maryland Wine Festival seems to have found the answer as they are preparing to bring the 8th Annual Kegs and Corks Festival to the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds on August 17, 2019.

This week, we sit down with Ashlee and Sharon to see how they do it. The answer is simple–keep it fresh. And fresh this year is The Amish Outlaws! They will be headlining and we speak with Ezekiel at the 23:30 mark.

So, if you are a beer or wine or music fan–this is the festival for you. Listen up as we talk music, vendors, and of course the beer and wine that will be coming on August 17th!
