CRABCAKE: Annapolis Restaurant Week 2019 (February 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Today, we are in a bustling Market House (you can hear the espresso machines and the deliveries–sorry about the audio) with Erik Evans, the Executive Director of the Downtown Annapolis Partnership; Jody Danek, the co-owner of several restaurants; and Michelle Bouchard who is one of the General Partners in the Market House!

We talk about the week, what’s new and the awesome Mardi Gras party that is kicking it all off!

Live From The Annapolis Market House with Annapolis Fork (E-120)

It took close to two decades, but I think we can safely say that THE MARKET HOUSE IS BACK!

This week, we recorded the episode at the Annapolis Market House and brought along our friend, Cara from Annapolis Fork to run it through its paces.  Along the way we spoke with Michelle Bouchard, the grand poobah and some of the fantastic staff on hand!  But we did not stop there–oh no no… we also chatted with some folks that were there eating, shopping and drinking. Yes, drinking–you can drink in the Market House!

If you have not been–go.  But before you go–have a listen!

The Maryland Crabs Podcast is usually recorded at The Commons overlooking beautiful West Street in Annapolis. The Commons is the City’s first co-working space and it is an incredibly cool one…purely because we are there! Not really, but do check it out!

Hey, before you zone out—do us a favor. Head over to Apple Podcasts (formerly iTunes), Google Play or wherever you listen to us and leave us a rating and if you have time a comment. Not only does it elevate (or shatter) our egos, it really helps with getting the word out about this podcast. Thanks!

If you are just joining us…. every week, our full episodes drop at noon on Thursdays. We have smaller Crabcake episodes that will drop whenever we damn well please!  Make sure you check out some (or all) of our previous episodes? You really should. They could change your life. Granted, your life would have to be pretty bad. But still, we have some gems you will want to check out!

Shootin’ the Sh!t with Sean O’Neill (E-90)

You loved him back in 2016 in Episode 5, so we brought him back by popular demand 85 episodes later….it’s Sean O’Neill. Plus, we WERE at a grungy kitchen table this time!

So, what was the topic? Not a darned thing. Just shootin’ the sh!t for an hour around the kitchen table. We talk about Mayor Buckley’s tax hike, the Market House, the upcoming Trump visit to the USNA and former local, former secret service agent, former candidate for public office… Dan Bongino. (Note: John is still confused how he ended up being a part of this.)

It was a two-beer podcast, but it was Miller Lite so it did not get too out of hand!

NOTE: We are now on Spotify!  Check it out!

The Market House and the Epic Failure of the Annapolis City Council (E-50)

This week, Jimmy DeButts, the Associate Editor of The Capital Gazette sits down with us to talk about the incredibly prescient editorial he penned the weekend before the Annapolis City Council once again proved that they have no idea what to do with the Market House.  Frustrated with the process…listen along as we bitch!

LINKS WE DISCUSSED:

Special thanks to THE COMMONS for our new sometimes home. The Commons is Annapolis’ only co-working space at 209 West Street.  Check it out!

Coming up…. former County Executive John R. Leopold, the Chairman of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, County Executive Steve Schuh, and crabcakes with the Aldermanic candidates for the City of Annapolis
