CRABCAKE: Open Mic and The Other Side of King: A Musical (November 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or longer.. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. And so did Tee Adams!  And in January, on Dr. King’s birthday, that dream will become a reality with the performance of an original musical at Maryland Hall– The Other Side of King: A Musical.

Adams and playwright Kevin Smith have put together a musical snapshot of the Dr. King few know–the man at home, at church, and at the barber shop. All accompanied by a 50 voice choir!

The performance is FREE at Maryland Hall on January 15, 2020. Tickets are not yet available, so keep your ears open.

But, their other venture is coming up at Maryland Hall– An Open Mic Night — A Tribute to 90s R&B featuring Tao Soprano from Dru Hill! Tickets are available now for the November 21st evening at the Bowen Theater at Maryland Hall.

As for this crabcake–have a listen as we speak with two of the visionaries that are working with the community to bring Art For All!

And… if you are planning an event and need some lighting…. check out the magic that Mama Tee does with lights at Light It Up With Triple A!

And Kevin aside from writing this musical, he handles artist and music management for various music artists with his company Project 1440.

CRABCAKE: Rick Wakeman and the Grumpy Old Rock Star Tour (September 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or longer in this case, because..well…beer! In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

He’s a keyboard legend and he picked Maryland Hall to start his North American Grumpy Old Rock Star Tour!  Rick Wakeman, keyboardist for Yes, author, writer, and yes–comedian chats with me before he hops on a plane over the pond.

The show is Saturday, September 21st at Maryland Hall at 8pm.

What to expect?  Something completely different and beautiful musically; mixed in with some irreverence and talk about the humor in his life. Today we learn that he will probably have a new couch when he returns and what makes him the Grumpy Old Rock Star!

And disappointingly, I suggested he do an intimate performance in my living room–and he politely declined!
