It’s flu season. And locally, we’re seeing a lot of it. How do you get it? More importantly, how do you avoid it? We speak with Dr. Michael Freedman of Evolve Medical Clinics for the answers!

And then of course we get off track and talk a bit about the Noro-Virus like the one that closed a few schools, the controversy over the HPV vaccine, Medicine with a Mission, and the rocks in his sink.

Have a listen!

The SOUPer Bowl (E-128)

Fast forward 13 years. Much has changed for the Light House Homeless Prevention Support Center, but the tradition continues as the mission of the Light House expands to help rebuild lives by providing shelter and services to prevent homelessness and empower people as they transition toward employment, housing and self-sufficiency.

Sunday, February 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Heritage Baptist (1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis) will host the 13th Annual SOUPer Bowl Lunch for the Light House Shelter.

Tim sits down with Chef Zachary Pope, the kitchen maestro who makes the event happen, and Kait Dawson, Volunteer Manager for the Lighthouse Shelter to talk about the SOUPer Bowl and how the Lighthouse Shelter is making a difference in people’s lives.

Not Guilty (E-127)

We can all agree that getting arrested and charged with attempted murder is a bummer. I think we can also agree that being found not guilty is a good thing when you are innocent. But now what?

In the world of Google, innocence means nothing. Google never forgets.

Today, we speak with an Annapolis native* that is living that nightmare. Spent time working with youth in public housing. Attended St. Mary’s High School. Was a nationally ranked football player. Arrested, charged, and found not guilty. And now, because of Google, he made a conscious decision to NOT name his first born son after himself.

* We are purposely NOT publishing his name to prevent further Google hits!

CRABCAKE: Comedy Legend, Tom Papa (January 2019)

This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it’s a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20….or longer in Tim blathers on and the guest is too polite to hang up. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!

Today Tim talks with Tom Papa, the legendary comic who will be appearing at the Rams Head on Stage for two shows on January 26. Besides being one of the biggest names in stand-up, Tom hosts his own podcast, “Come to Papa”, is head writer for “From Live To Here” (formerly “The Prairie Home Companion”), a screenwriter, actor, and author. He does not sleep.

Given the time to talk to one of his comedy idols, Tim squanders the opportunity in order to talk about the agony of raising a teenage girl and the joys of making sourdough bread. Tom was a good sport.
